APPLICATION FORM FOR THE PEACE BUILDING INSTITUTE
The Peace-Building Institute is a two-week program that brings together Rwandan, regional and international university students and young professionals to study genocide, transitional justice, reconstruction efforts, development and good governance under the theme : “What can Rwanda teach the world ?” Since 2010, the Peace-Building Institute (PBI) has trained hundreds of promising young people who have become a part of our global network of responsible leaders and who espouse values of peace and non-violent conflict resolution in their communities, their cities and even their countries.
The PBI is held twice a year : once in December-January for African youth, and once in June for students and young professionals of all nationalities. The application process for the PBI is very competitive, with successful candidates chosen based on their demonstrated leadership and peacebuilding experience, as well as their academic/professional accomplishments. During the PBI, participants analyze, discuss and debate sets of shared readings on genocide, transitional justice, and good governance & development, take part in cross-cultural activities and team-building exercises, and visit various historical and cultural sites around Rwanda as they take in lessons that they can use to promote sustainable peace in their careers and volunteer activities when they return home.

PBI FEES (PER PARTICIPANT)
Accommodation 50 USD per day
Program fee 1200 USD this includes (Lectures, Instruction- al materials, Transport for program activities, Lunches and coffee breaks)
Applicants from Rwanda may be eligible for funding to assist with the costs of the program.
